Orientation starts tomorrow. Life as we know it is ending today. Josh is taking a nap on the couch. Probably the last guilt free nap of his life-the last time his head will hit a pillow and he won't think about all the junk that needs to be crammed into his already exploding brain.
We've been doing nothing for 3 weeks now. And we've been waiting years for this moment. We're ready to start, but we're scared out of our skin.

On to what I really was going to post today: Jonah! He's getting a mouthful of teeth and he's letting everyone know he's not happy. If he weren't so cute I'd be tempted sell him on ebay. Two days ago I watched Jonah walk over to the bookcase, select
Windows to Color off the shelf, take the book to the pillow and princess blanket, lie down, and open the book to read it. Reading always has to be done on Jonah's terms. Which means no reading. Only opening and closing, feeling, tasting, and laughing at the pictures.

I finally bought Jonah some shoes that will cover his plump feet. Now he's obsessed with shoes. He carries Venna's shoes around and attempts to get at least one foot in. When he sees his own shoes he points and screams until someone finally puts them on. He's pretty much in the point and scream phase of life.
He's also really into Venna's kitchen and fake food. He can spend a good 20 minutes entertaining himself with the frying pan, spatula, plastic peas, and coffee pot. He mixes the peas and occasionally pours some coffee in for flavor. Gives it that extra kick.

Here he is watching
Nacho Libre with his old man. (He didn't last very long.)

Now will you help me find some shoes that will cover my plump feet?
The "point and scream" phase sounds like something I should look into. Meaningful communication with words, gestures, and facial expressions is getting old.
