Life at our house hasn't been very exciting lately. The newness of Kirksville and med school have worn off. The honeymoon's over. Josh took his second test this morning.
Venna finished her 2nd week of preschool today. Her teacher told me that the kids wanted to sing solos so they had an impromptu concert. She said Venna sang a "sweet" song that she had never heard before and that Venna did a fantastic job. I asked Venna what she sang. I bet you can guess. She sang I Am a Child of God.

Tuesday I drove 60 miles to go to a Target. A Target in Iowa. Ottumwa, Iowa. Raise your hand if you knew Ottumwa, Iowa even existed. Anyone?...Anyone?...That's what I thought. I really have been missing Target so when my friend, Kari, suggested the road trip I was all for it. Kari has the cutest 7 month old boy ever. His name is Noah. We crammed 3 carseats in the back of my car and went for a drive. Here are the highlights:
  • Seeing Amish country (horse drawn buggies included!)
  • Driving over 40 MPH People in Kirksville drive SO SLOWLY! And I think the highest posted speed limit in town is 45 MPH.
  • Setting foot in a store that isn't Wal-mart
  • Eating at Arby's
  • Getting out of Kirksville for a few hours

What a great day that was! Going to Target, eating at Arby's and, like you said, getting out of Kirksville for a few hours was sooo wonderful! And you are right, Noah is adorable :) I can't believe I got so lucky. Thanks for taking us-it has been one of the highlights of this month.
