Benji and farewell to freedom

 Uncle "Benny" (Tuck has renamed him) came to visit us!!

We got the wii out of the box in the garage. Benji and Jonah were in heaven.

My kiddos love Benji. 

Probably because he likes to do the same things they do.

He stayed and played with us for four fun days.

Then he had to be off for grad school orientation.

August 14: The last day of summer vacation

 Remember when I made Venna practice eating lunch before she started kindergarten?

Yesterday it was Jonah's turn to practice. 

I wasn't worried about him being a slow eater.

I was worried about clean up and eating too fast.

Just as I suspected...he ate only his chips, 

and then he whined about having to sit in his chair for 20 minutes.

I think he's going to have a good time at lunch.

Venna is obsessed with pandas.

Obviously she needed a panda lunchbox.

She tried to be a good example of staying in your seat for

 Jonah during our mock lunchroom lunch.

We have been living without a microwave ever since we moved to Springfield.

And we have been living without a stove/oven ever since we moved into our house.

This has been inconvenient to say the least.

Yesterday was a pretty happy day when our new appliances were delivered.

Now we can heat our food with something other than a toaster!

We spent the afternoon eating ice cream and playing in our backyard.
