Grandpa and Peoria

We've lived in our REAL house for one week now.
Wait, Megan, I thought you said you were only going to live in that
crappy interim house with no microwave for only 2 weeks?!
Buying our house turned into a complicated 6 week fiasco.
Realtors, a daughter-in-law, old people, a mobile home...
It was a glorious day when we finally moved in.

What we did our first week:
We had a surprise visitor!
Monday at noon Jonah yelled, "Grandpa's here!"
And he was.
 Just in time, too.
He babysat while I went to the bank, alone, to close on the house.

He brought all the tools to take down ugly wallpaper.
I was afraid to do it myself, but with his help we got it all down in the living and dinning room!
We got a bit obsessive and took most of it down in only one day.

Venna (and Jonah and Tucker) got in on the action, too.

We worked Grandpa Kenny pretty hard, but we also had fun.
We went swimming everyday.
Pretty sure our grandpa can make a bigger splash in the pool than your grandpa.
He's seriously impressive on the diving board.
And we tried two new restaurants.
And we went shopping.
He saved the day more than once during his visit.

On Thursday we drove to Peoria to visit our besties, the Brownings.
We parted with every single last one of friends recently, and we feel really lucky
to be only an hour and a half away from these friends.
Our kids love each other.

We went to a place FULL of bounce houses.
And this is the only picture I took.
Obviously the kids loved it, and
I had a great time talking to Crystal.

We spent the rest of the week attempting to take down bathroom wallpaper
(that's not going to be easy),
and by shopping all the back to school sales.

I want to be only an hour away so that we can go to a cool bounce house place and talk for hours...I'm totally jealous of Crystal. I can't wait to see pictures of your house.
