I have a theory that 1st children use up all the memory genes 2 parents have to offer their offspring. This phenomenon is most likely linked to the 1st child's compulsive need to please everyone. Venna absorbs all types of information like a sponge. She will also recall all her knowledge with little encouragement.
Jonah is a different story. I wonder if he just doesn't have the attention span for it yet. (Josh believes that Jonah is merely ornery.) Imagine my surprise this morning when I taught Jonah how old he is...and he learned it and remembered it! I took this video after church. Look at that retention!
