mars and venus

This afternoon I watched a few extra (5 to be exact) kids. They were mostly boys and the potty humor was out of control. An hour and a half of boy playing taught Venna some very important life lessons.

Experience #1
At first Venna tried so hard to sway the boys to play princesses and princes. After a few valiant attempts Venna conceded and told the boys she would be "bad guys" with them.

Lesson #1 99% of the time girls end up doing what the boys want to do.

Experience #2
Venna: Let's go play a trick on my mom!
boy: Let's kill her!

Lesson #2 Boys are violent.

Experience #3
While staring at a boy lying on the floor,
Venna: I think we made him sad.
Boy: I think he's dead.

Lesson #3 Boys will do anything to avoid talking about feelings

Experience #4
Venna: I want to play a good game with you.
Boy: Like Star Wars?

Lesson #4 Boys and girls do not speak the same language.

Oh my gosh, I am laughing so hard that Tim just yelled, "what are you laughing at?' down the stairs.

For lesson #1, I think it's just that majority usually wins. We (me, Jill, and Carly) got Jake to play Barbies with us. He was the garbage man. He drove from Barbie house to Barbie house picking up their trash.

What life lesson did she learn from Hanna? Some little girls are just mean and don't like people? Its ok, Jill already knows.
