kid update

Jonah is crazy.
Currently he's working on perfecting the art of throwing of a fit. He's nearly an expert. It's really hard not to laugh when he flings himself so hard on the ground. Sometimes I think he's going to hurt himself.
He says 3 words: hi, wow, and hi dad. He's great at mimicking animal and car sounds.
Getting him into the car seat is a battle every single time. He's fine once I sit on him(to hold him down) and buckle the straps. :)
We went to his 15 month check up a couple of weeks ago. He weighs 24 pounds! 50th%-tile for everything.
He's so hard to take a good picture of because he won't hold still. He's blurry in every single one.

Venna is dramatic.
Here she is "learning to read"on her leapster. She is so interested in "studying" with Josh. She is always asking him to tell her about body parts. Out of the blue one day she told us she was learning about her scapula. When we laughed and told her she didn't even know where a scapula was she said it was on her back. She was right.
We've implemented a plan to help Venna stop sucking her thumb (and stop putting everything from toys to her jacket in her mouth). The motivating reward in this plan includes M&Ms. She gave all her "blankelies" to Jonah. She was doing an OK job for a while. Now we find her in the closet sucking her thumb.
Josh took Venna trick-or-treating. After a few houses she told him she could go by herself. She's really trying to be more independent.
