When I woke up this morning I knew I wanted to go to Walmart before lunch. (I have big goals these days.) While I was feeding Tucker his breakfast I could tell that it was going to rain soon.
Do you know what the rain is like in Missouri? It rains hard. It rains long. The lightning. The thunder. The parking lots turn into lakes. Three kids plus groceries? Not good. But I thought we could beat the storm so we set off.
We got everything on our list. My kids love to go to the garden department to look at the flowers. I make it the reward for being good. (Sometimes Jonah doesn't get to go.) So the flowers were our last stop. One look at the black sky and I knew we didn't have time.
I found the shortest line. BUT the lady in front of me was using coupons, price matching, AND she knew the checker. They just chit chatted away. I pleaded please don't rain, please don't rain. I prayed please let the rain wait for us to get to the car. I paid.
One step outside and Tucker's blanket flew away with the wind. Venna was yelling, "It looks like a hurricane out here!" I opened the doors to the car, and everyone got in. I threw the bags in the back. On the way to the cart return it started sprinkling.
I climbed in, slammed the door, downpour.
By the time I got to our street I could hardly see to drive.
I know my Heavenly Father loves me.

And he blessed you with in-laws that were smart and told you to buy the house that had a garage. LOL Heavenly Father truly loves you. I know I'm grateful for those reminders in my life.
*fighting back the tears*
That was a great story.
You have a way with words, Megan.
It WAS like a hurricane.
I think when you are a mom, it is things like that that remind you that you are still His child.
I love little answered prayers like that...the Lord knows we moms need them to stay sane!
