big girl on campus

Venna's been trying for 3 months to figure out why on earth she would need to take a summer break from school. Today the blessed day came. The break is over. She started her second year of preschool. In the picture above Uncle Benji is wishing her a happy day.
Let's see how this year compares to last year.
The Beginning
Last year: When I dropped her off she told me I "can go now."
This year: Josh dropped her off. She ran in and didn't even look back.
The Art Project
Last year: A red balloon person with a disfigured, unrecognizable face.
This year: A pink balloon baby with 2 nearly symmetrical eyes, a nose, and cute little mouth.
Teacher Communication
Last year: Mrs. Stock told me Venna tripped and skinned her knee.
This year: Mrs. Snyder told me Venna had gotten hurt on the swing. She was twirling and smacked her bum into the pole.
The Aftershock
Last year: Worn out. She nearly fell asleep under the piano when she got home because she was so tired.
This year: Worn out. She seriously cried about everything today. In fact, she was crying when I tucked her in tonight because I made her go to the bathroom before she got into bed.

She looks a lot older, she may be able to draw better, but not much has changed.

Love you, Venna. You'll be the best 2nd year preschooler EVER!

Everything has changed: Venna is a WHOLE year older! She is so dang cute. I'm glad she is not following her mother and crying about the 1st day of school, or the whole first week.
love ya, Venna. so glad you had a great first day.

I loved her 1st day outfit! I bet she was the most fashionable in her class.

What a cool pre-schooler. Nice art project (though I don't believe I ever did anything with a balloon in school, it was just a whole lot of macaroni and gross glue)
