st. louis

Last quarter was a killer. We survived (although sometimes I thought we wouldn't) so we treated ourselves to a trip to St. Louis during spring break. We love love loved it! We researched what there was to do, printed out a few maps from mapquest, and we were on our to the best Burkhardt family vacation ever!
The Hotel- Priceline, baby! There were 2 great things about the hotel: TV and an indoor pool.
The Zoo- free! Venna posed for the above picture herself.
There were so many animals and so little time.
Our favorite was the penguins. When they jumped in the water you got all wet.
Del Taco-Kirksville needs one.
Magic House-a children's museum on crack! There was so much to do. Jonah enjoyed digging in the construction zone.
Venna and Jonah loved the water area. We had to leave because Jonah kept drinking the water.
Future news anchors. There was a lot more stuff but Venna and Jonah wouldn't hold still long enough to take any good picture.
City Museum-holy cow! I don't even know how to explain this place. This is the only picture I took before I had to take my purse and our coats back to the car. You needed both hands to play here. We climbed, crawled, and slid our way through amazing cement and metal obstacles. We had to buy Venna a flashligt to get her to go in that cave.
This is the outside exhibit. Venna was not amused. She cried the entire time. We traumatized her. She'll probably be afraid of heights her whole life now. Jonah was scary. He wasn't afraid to go anywhere. Since leaving City Musuem Jonah has had a hard time distinguishing what is appriate to climb on and what isn't. Example: two days ago he threw all the pillows from the couch on the floor and then dove into them.
The Arch-classic St. Louis.
