lots of dots

The first time Venna asked to wear these two "pieces" together it was just to Walmart. She kept her coat on the entire time. It wasn't so bad. Besides, how can you fight the argument that "polka dots match?" In some cultures they do. Just not our culture. This morning I asked Venna what she wanted to wear to preschool and she said, "The polka dots." I seriously didn't know if I could do it. Could I really drop her off at preschool wearing such a rediculous ensemble? It would be painful, but do I really want to be a controlling mother? Yes. But really...No.
This picture is a celebration of the maturation of the daughter and the mother. To Venna's growing independence. And to my letting go. (Just a little.)

By the time you have your last child you don't care what they wear. I think she looks cute.

She's definitely a cute kid no matter what she's wearing! And I bet that pre-school teachers see ensembles like that quite often :) I hope to see you guys again soon!

It's called pick your battles. Clothes just isn't one worth fighting about. Every mother at preschool knew she dressed herself. I love it.

Very eloquently put, Megan. :)

Nicely done. I just lie to Grant and tell him that the obnoxious hand-me-down blue Thomas shirt is dirty when we go out in public.

Maya and Venna must have the same style sense! The next step of maturation is when you let them dress themselves and you stop explaining to everyone you see that you let them pick out their own outift.
