In March the kids and I flew to Utah. Then we drove with my parents and Benji to San Diego.

We went to the beach on St. Patrick's Day.

Rock heaven. Jonah picked up that rock as soon as we got out of the car, and then he carried it about 30 yards to the water. When he finally threw it the water was out. It plopped right in the wet sand. I wonder if he thought it was worth it.

Venna and Jonah were happily playing in the tiny waves when out of no where a powerful one hit. Knocked them both over into the sand. Pretty much ruined the entire experience for Venna.

We were a mess afterwards. It took forever to clean the sand off all 3 kids.

Boys at the ocean

Josh got to take a vacation from pretending to be a surgeon, and he met us there. We visited the aircraft carrier USS Midway. The ship was ginormous. We spent a few hours looking around. One of the best things we saw was the brig. We keep threatening Jonah that we'll throw him in the brig if he's not good:)

A big boat filled with airplanes-something for everyone.

Tuck was there, too.

We also went to Sea World. My kids love Shamu. Really, who doesn't love Shamu?

And the whole reason for the trip? Michelle and Caleb. I'm really happy they live in such a fun place. There are no ships, dolphins, large bodies of water, or even good restaurants where we live.
My kids love their new aunt!

After California we had a week to hang out in Utah. We spent the days just hanging out with my mom. (And we spent the nights hanging with my dad and Benji.) One of our favorite days was when we visited the dino museum in Lehi.

Venna and Jonah played in the erosion table until we dragged them away...

to dig in the dirt for bones.
And that was our trip.
