I wanted to share the 3 things I LOVE for running. These things make all the difference.
The first is my Garmin watch. It tells me how far I've gone, how fast I'm going, and how long I've been at it. Before I owned one I was always guessing. Now I'm in control. Much better.
Nerdy yet cute. You need water. You need a place to stash your phone. Apart from the sloshing sounds, you wouldn't even know it was there.
This stuff is amazing! I was afraid of it at first. Now I love it. We were feeling pretty good this morning. We ingested gu at mile 16. Awesome. It makes your legs light. You feel like your back at mile 5. I hope its not habit forming:) This is the exact flavor I had this morning. Yum.Have I crossed the line and become a complete nerd for posting my running gear on my blog? I don't care. All I think about is running. I was reflecting on why running is my thing. I love to sew, craft, read, and blog but I'm not doing a whole lot of those things right now. Those activities always get interrupted. Kids... Jeesh...can't he change his own diaper already? Not so with running. I can get up, accomplish my miles, and be finished for the day. That's exactly what I need right now.

I don't know how people run without a garmin! They are the best thing ever. I have never tried a camelbak. I wonder if the sloshing would irritate me? And GU? I have only heard that it makes you want to throw up so it is good to see someone liking it. Good luck on the marathon. You are one incredible girl!!!!
You are not a nerd. You are a runner. When I am training for an event, it's all I can think about too. I can NOT believe you are running a marathon; you are my hero.
Tell me more about the Garmin. I have a Nike+iPod that I use, but I'm considering getting a Garmin. I plan to run a half marathon this fall. How much did it cost and where did you get it? I need details, dude.
And yes, Gu is incredible. Kind of gross, but totally worth it on the long runs.
Oops, I'm signed in as my string quartet. You know it's me, right?

i hear ya! running is awesome!
As you know, I am so not a runner, but I love hearing about what's going on with you and what's on your mind! You ran 19 miles?!?!? That is like unfathomable to me. Seriously WOW. Congratulations!
YEAH YEAH!! Running is the best. You will feel more hooked after you cross that marathon finish line :)
I don't think you are just a normal runner...you've been doing it like a pro for a while.
Gu is gross! But I used it anyways. I got a nike+ GPS watch (Like the Garmin but it's from TomTom) and I agree it's harder to train without one. I liked the camel back. That's a good idea. I was using a water belt but I want to try the camel back.
We should do a Kirksville reunion marathon sometime with everyone that would be interested. It's a lot more fun racing with friends.
