Last week was rough. Like the whole week #14 was trying to kick my butt. It was a time where if I were a quitter I would have quit. Luckily I've made a monetary investment and told the whole internet world about my goal. No quitting. Seriously though, my physical and emotional parts took a beating.
Let's start with the physical: my toes were sore and getting calloused, my left hamstring was tight, my bra rubbed away the skin on my right collar bone (random), and my whole entire body, from my forehead to my heals, was tired!
Emotional: have you ever run with people that are faster and more fit than you are? It just hurts the pride. My running friends have each run a half marathon before. Both look fantastic. My epiphany for the week was I am a first timer. Obviously I am not capable of running as fast and steady as they can. I should run with them, though, because it pushes me to work a lot harder. Maybe someday I'll arrive at the lake with you, Bree and Aimee, instead of 10 minutes behind you.
Week #15 went better. This morning I ran by myself. 9 miles. Before you get too excited and tell me I'm the shiz, let me just say for the record that it was a pretty slow run. But I enjoyed it.
Have I told you that running is hard?

Hooray! I made it on the most Righteous Family's blog! Ok, only by name but that is a great start. Don't you dare stop running with me cause then I just wouldn't run at all. You are an awesome runner and I am so glad that you had a great run today. NINE... that is just plan awesomeness. Next week will be better for me.. I hope!
You are the shiz. Seriously you are doing awesome. Running is hard and all you can do is keep doing it. I'm jealous of your good week---my running this week was weak. And all I can say is you NEED some running clothes. Let's do a road trip to Quincy to the TJ MAX and load you up :)
BTW you weren't 10 min behind it was much closer than that, give yourself some credit.
Wow, you're awesome! I need to do more cardio...you're a great example! Maybe I'll run with you sometime, I'm sure that you're not slower than I am! :)
Nice. You training for something? And seriously, running is just plain easier when it's not so dang hot outside.
